Yatton II hosted Weston III looking to back up last weeks win over Wells. They got off to the best possible start when 2 phases into the game, Jesse Chapman saw space on the blindside wing and cruised in from 50 meters. Si Wright's converted. Weston clawed back a score through their strong pack but the conversion was missed. Chris Dart & Jesse Chapman both had chances to scored for the home side however good covering defenses and loose passes saw Yatton fail to capitalise on these changes. Weston ran in 2 long-range tries from set piece moves with half an hour played before a wide pass saw Jesse Chapman score his second just before halftime.
A motivating team talk saw Yatton start the second half as they began the first - with a try - however, this was a little more direct as Rob Hepworth touched down from a rolling maul. Try as they might Yatton couldn't score the 4th try to secure the bonus point & let the visitors score another 2. Jesse Chapman was man of the match for his ability to created breaks from seaming a solid defense & Kyle Vickery a standout performed running into brick walls for the badge.
A Christmas break for Yatton now & the new year. Although not the perfect end to the year plenty of positives to take with improvements each week & a number of young players such as Finbar Lawrence & Cam Pollederi playing well for the team
